AHHH! REAL MONSTERS!

I haven't updated this thing in a while. I only have so much time to actually do things. I would rather not spend that behind a computer talking about work and sorting through pictures. However, THIS picture is crazy and people should see it.

That isn't a sea ray, it's a skate. This was caught south of Cape Cod in the Nantucket Sound. I've never seen them this big. It's kind of strange because the deepest part of the Nantucket Sound is probably around 100 feet. I haven't caught anything else down here that is even close to being this big.

So next time someone asks "hey, have you seen Sebastian?" just say "Oh yea, he is catching sea monsters in Cape Cod."

Cape Cod Blues

Every couple days we catch a few bluefish. I've heard of people losing fingers at the wharf when they wash their hands in the water. I never really believed it but the other day we caught a few fish with huge pieces bitten out of them. Big mouth bites actually. These things are pretty vicious! I definitely think these could rip a finger or two off.

(this thing entry reads like a "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy" from SNL)

Game Over

This happened over the winter time but i don't really have anything new to post so whatever.

That is half a lobster boat in our net. This was a nightmare. We had to tie the lobster boat off, cut the net in half, then let the net out. Once the boat was clear of the net, we cut it free and went home. It took a couple hours to get it free and couple more hours to fix all the holes.

Whoa. I forgot i had this thing.

So it's been over a year since i've updated this. I guess i started posting all the stuff i should of posted on here, onto facebook. Well, whatever to that. There were so many things that happened since the last time i posted on this blog. The boat that i work on broke down, i went to the caribbean, i got into a car accident, met some very amazing people, some friends got married, some friends had kids... That is a lot of crazy, life changing stuff. Most of it deserves more than a status update or a twitter fart. Since photobucket is currently down and i can't get to any of the pictures i've been taking, i'll just try to post something cool from somewhere else.

I have to wake up at 3 am for work so i am going to make this short and sweet.

I landed this kickflip first try. I'm so glad i have a science phone so i can film stuff like this.

I'll post more pictures soon, once photobucket stops being a jerk.

Introductions and stuff

I don't really want to spend too much of my time on the internet unless its to find people to hang out with and do this blog. I've always loved taking pictures since i was a little kid. I have a ton of photographs sitting in boxes and its about time i blew the dust off them and did something with them. This blog thing i feel is for the present. I should post some new pictures of some NEW things going on.

This is me. I've worked on boats on and off since i was 12. The last few days of the 6th grade is when i went on my first couple trips. I didn't get paid much but you don't really expect to when you can't do a good portion of the labor. I really hated doing it up until half a year ago. I owe a great deal of good things i have to this job. Yea, i have to work real hard. Yea, the hours are crazy but there is so much about it that is awesome too. I am proud of what i do and where i come from. The only real tattoo idea i've ever had was of the family fishing boat that built my family into what it is today.

I used to get bummed out that i was a fisherman and i wasn't going to school but now i feel good about it. Its a huge part of who i am and where i come from. I can't sit in a classroom and learn about things that aren't interesting to me. I don't have the attention for it and i probably never will. I will say this: I am glad i don't have a ton of debt from school loans during these harsh times.
